Gately Inn Entebbe (the extension of Gately on Nile Jinja) has been tastefully designed and built with great passion, by the owner herself, keeping only one thing in mind - the customer's comfort and satisfaction.
Gately On Nile's reputable theme (covering more than 18 years of success), is based on casual, rustic, yet elegant ambience, incorporating the use of natural elements with attention to local wood, stone and earth finishes.
Gately On Nile, Jinja
Merryde Loosemore is the proud proprietor of ‘Gately on Nile’ (sister lodge to Gately Inn Entebbe), a uniquely renovated lodge & guesthouse superbly situated on the shores of Lake Victoria in Jinja, Uganda.
Inspired by her Great Aunt (both Australian), an adventurous spirit, Merryde once arriving in Uganda (1999) fell in love with the country and its people. “The natural beauty of the country, the fabulous climate, the warmth of the people and the relaxed lifestyle all contributed to me feeling as if I had ‘come home’ “she says. “I saw the opportunity of realising another lifelong dream to live and work in Africa”.
The vision was to create a ‘home away from home’. Something very different, and completely foreign to what was then on offer in the country. A tranquil retreat where excellent, personal service and good food combine with elegant and comfortable accommodation to create an ‘ultimate getaway’. An intimate meeting venue for corporate clientele, the ideal week-end away for families from Kampala, a convenient stop-over for those traveling to and from Kenya and an overnight haven for tourist and business travelers alike.
Gately on Nile Lodge is renowned as the country’s first and most reputable boutique bed and breakfast lodge having opened in April 2000. The establishment has expanded and retained Gately’s rustic yet elegant ambience. The Gately guarantees you or your client, friend or family will leave the premise feeling more relaxed yet recharged than they did on arrival.
Gately’s main reception building houses five tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms. The Lodge is flagged by several thatched roofed Banda’s scattered through the exotic gardens offering private lounges, dining and resting space for all.
The largest of these open air retreats lodge houses the main restaurant arena again furnished with the usual casual yet rustic elegant charm Gately is renowned for.
